We start by prepping the inside of the basement. Our installer will lay a protective layer of carpet over your existing flooring to protect your finish and keep your home clean. Plastic will be used to cover your items in the basement and an exhaust fan will be put in place to minimize dust. Once the prep work is done we open the floors up approximately 12 inches out from the wall. We trench out alongside the footing starting at 7 inches below the floor. The trench is shaved down 1 inch every 10 feet. The material is hauled out of your basement using 5 gallon buckets. A soil separator is placed in the trench along with a perforated pipe covered with 1 inch river washed gravel. The floors are washed and cleaned. A vapor barrier is placed over the gravel and then the concrete floor is re-poured. The drain tile is then taken to the outside by use of a pump or gravity. This is determined by the inspector.
