Mold can be found almost everywhere. Mold is a fungus, and mold spores are most commonly transported by wind, via insects, or through water. Regardless of the amount of mold in a home, the spores that arrive there need moisture to live, and this means that you are most likely to find mold in damp places. Your bathrooms, kitchen, and basement are where you will tend to see mold, as these are generally the best environments for mold to grow and flourish.
Molds are able to grow almost anywhere that there is moisture. Mold is a hearty fungus, which means that it doesn’t necessarily need a lot of wetness to get started. It grows best, however, where there is a lot of moisture. A leaky roof, high in-home humidity, a drainage problem, or a flood are ideal conditions for mold; when events like these occur, mold flourishes.
Mold cannot be completely eradicated. As was mentioned, it can be found almost everywhere. Occasionally you probably bring some mold home with you if you took a shortcut through some grass or a stroll through the garden. You can’t keep mold and mold spores out, but you can control mold growth. If you keep your home dry, you are turning it into an inhospitable environment for mold.
