Having current water problems? Is there water in your crawl space, vents of your slab, or is mold starting to grow? These questions will help you decide which solution may be best to correct your problem.
- Is there a warranty?
- Do you have a sump pump?
- Is the pump working properly?
- Has the sump pump been accidentally unplugged?
- Is the float stuck on your sump pump?
- See if the roof and gutter water flows away from the walls of the foundation.
- Are the downspouts dumping excessive amounts of water next to the foundation walls?
- Do not water shrubbery and plants excessively near the foundation walls.
- Look for standing water around the walls.
- Is the water coming through a basement window?
- Is the seepage coming through a crack in the foundation wall?
- Is water leaking in where the floor and the wall meet?
- Is the water leakage coming up through cracks in the floor?
- Is the water running over the top of the wall?
- If so is there a window over the area where it leaks?
- Is there a door over the leaking area?
- Check the caulking around the doors and windows.
- Make it leak, get out the hose starting low and working your way up until you make the water seepage run down the foundation wall.
- Do you smell a damp musty odor?
- Is mold present on the walls or floor?
- Do you have a damp or wet basement floor; carpet?
- Has any of the wood rotted?
- Have you seen any rust marks on the foundation walls or floors?
- Have you noticed moisture, walls sweating or paint peeling?
- Are the walls flaking?
