Yes, we provide free estimates. We also offer free service calls to existing customers that may have questions or new projects. - How do I check my basement for water damage? top
There are many signs of water damage including, but not limited to: wall discoloring, water stains on wood or carpet, mold, and musty odors. Check your basement regularly for signs of water damage, particularly after heavy rains, large snowfalls, and during any period of thawing. - What about phone lines, electric lines, gas lines, and other utilities that are in the path of my project? top
AquaProof, Inc. is very careful about excavating and digging around your existing utility lines. A few days before we arrive to work on your home, you may notice some spray painting in your yard. By law, we are required to contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service (or similar organization in your area) before beginning any digging project. The spray paint lets us know where existing lines are so that your services are not interrupted and hazards can be properly avoided. - Do you check the downspouts to make sure they are flowing properly? top
Yes, all downspout lines are checked. Downspouts are they key to controlling the runoff water, and we want to be sure that they are flowing properly. - How is water getting under my house? top
Often, water under your home is usually caused by a grading issue or foundation problem that has never been properly corrected. We can help you find and fix the source of the problem. - Why didn't my home inspector discover this problem? top
Home inspectors look at several areas when expecting homes. While they know a lot in several areas, they are not experts in the waterproofing field, so it is easy for them to miss a problem, particularly if it is small. It is important to have someone not affiliated with the seller or the bank look over a house before you purchase it. Have your own inspector look over a home before you buy. - Can we ever finish our basement with confidence that it will stay dry? top
We stand behind our work and offer a transferable lifetime warranty on everything we do. However, new problems can arise, and these are often caused by outside influences. A new home or other structure erected in your area or a new grading project on a neighbor’s property could create a problem for you. - How do you stop water coming up through the cracks in the middle of the floor? top
This is a very rare problem, usually due to improper care taken when fixing leaks or cracks around the outside of the foundation. An inside waterproofing system would need to be installed to properly remedy this problem. - Can I just paint my walls with waterproofing paint instead? top
No. Waterproofing paint applied to your walls does more harm than good. Applying this paint is only a temporary way of keeping water from getting into your home.
Even if the paint is effective at keeping water out of your home, this means that it is also effective in keeping water inside your walls. This water is now building up in the structure’s walls and causing structural damage to your home.
